Tradescantia 'Jose Puig' / Black Gibasis

Add dramatic dark tones to your collection with the strikingly moody Gibasis 'Jose Puig'. Often classed under its close Tradescantia umbrella, this exquisite cultivar features slender, lance-shaped leaves of deep obsidian-purple to near-black that produce a shimmering, glossy sheen under bright light.

Why It Belongs in Your Collection:

• Moody Obsidian Foliage: Produces intensely dark, near-black foliage that adds high-contrast drama alongside lighter green or variegated houseplant displays.

• Dainty White Blooms: Periodically blooms with small, starry three-petalled white flowers that pop brilliantly against the dark, moody foliage.

• Graceful Trailing Habit: Quickly sends out fine, dark stems that cascade delicately over pot edges, making it ideal for hanging baskets or shelf styling.

• Sun-Enhancing Colour: The darker and brighter the light exposure, the deeper and richer its purple-black colour becomes.

• Toxicity / Pet Safety: Mildly Toxic / Irritant. Contains sap that can cause mild skin irritation or digestive upset in pets if chewed. Display safely elevated on high shelves or in hanging planters.
